The following temporary traffic order comes from the City Council.
There's a bit of background to this one! The work is to be undertaken by Scottish Water to repair a collapsed manhole in the middle of the street in Ancrum Drive.
I am grateful to the City Council who, at my request following concerns from residents when the temporary cover moved away from the hole, attended to move it back over the substantial hole in the road.
The original date for the work was not until 26th July and I viewed that as totally unacceptable - a month away - given the location of the problem, challenge for vehicles getting past given the cones around the temporary cover, the cones themselves moving and the extent of the hole.
I asked the City Council to request that Scottish Water get the permanent repair done ASAP and am pleased to say the work will now be undertaken and completed this Wednesday.
