Thursday activities

This afternoon, I took part in the latest West End Community Planning Partnership (LCPP) meeting at Blackness Library.

The LCPP meeting is a good opportunity for representatives from different council departments, councillors and representatives from other organisations like police, fire and rescue and the NHS to discuss local issues and matters of concern and also let local residents raise issues, ask questions and have their say.

This was the first afternoon meeting of the LCPP (the quarterly meetings have, until now, been in the evenings - we are now trying a mix of afternoon and evening meetings each year) and we had a very informative presentation on West End census profile data.   We also discussed a number of other local matters including housing condition and management and community asset transfer.

This evening, I had my ward surgery at Blackness Primary School and several constituent visits - I also spoke on Wave 102 news about the campaign to get free wi-fi for Dundee City Centre.   You can listen to the interview by clicking 'play' below :
