From Sheena Wellington at Friends of Wighton:
Reigning Glenfiddich Fiddle Champion Maggie Adamson and guitarist Brian Nicolson will provide the musical treats for the Friends of Wighton Cappuccino Concert on Saturday 22nd September in the Wighton Heritage Centre on the Central Library.
20 year old Maggie Adamson, currently studying at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, is one of Shetland's finest young fiddlers who exemplifies the dynamic techniques which has made the Shetland fiddle style famous. Maggie is regularly accompanied by Brian Nicholson (a member of Hom Bru and many other groups), perhaps Shetland's most gifted and prodigious guitarist. The pairing has released three albums to date.
"A definite crowd pleaser, Maggie promises to be a star of the future, with already enough talent to challenge many professional players." - The Orcadian.
The concert starts at 11am, doors open and coffee available from 10.30am. Tickets, price £5 to include coffee, are available at the door or may be pre-booked from 01382 221242.
