In recent months, we have had several concerns about infrequent mail deliveries in the Oxford Street area.
We raised this with the Senior Public Affairs Manager at Royal Mail and received this response :
“Thank you for your recent communication regarding mal deliveries to Oxford Street served by Dundee West Delivery Office.
I am always disappointed when I hear that any of our customers do not feel that they are receiving the service that they ought to. I have spoken with the Customer Operations Manager who covers the area. They have advised that mail deliveries to Oxford Street have been affected over recent weeks due to a higher than normal level of sickness, along with recruitment challenges. I am sorry for any inconvenience this has caused your constituents.
The team are doing everything they can to improve the service as quickly as possible. The team have been busy recruiting new posties as well as utilising resource from our flexible resource partner. We are currently delivering to addresses on Oxford Street six days a week when there is mail to deliver. If this is not possible mail will be prioritised the next working day. We are working hard to further improve the services to customers so that we deliver consistently six days a week to all addresses.
We continue to recruit for postmen and women at Dundee West Delivery Office. These vacancies can be found at www.jobs.royalmailgroup.com and I would be grateful if you could use your social media channels to help reach those who are looking for a new role and might not be aware we are recruiting in the area. We would be keen to attend any recruitment fairs being hosted by Dundee City Council if there are any being held in the near future do let me know, as we would be keen to attend.”
