The 2024 West End Christmas Fortnight starts tomorrow!
4pm to 8pm this Thursday - Winter WestFest!
With thanks to our friends at WestFest, the Perth Road is to be transformed into a winter wonderland, with buildings and shops illuminated and festive images projected onto prominent sites between Miller's Wynd and Sinderins.
For one night only, the Dundee WestFest team will provide an enchanting start to the West End Christmas Fortnight, with its first-ever Winter WestFest event, featuring a festive light trail alongside the traditional Christmas market in Miller's Wynd car park.
Santa will also be appearing on his sleigh to give out goody bags to children attending the market and there will be a schools’ Christmas concert in Dundee West Church to coincide with the start of the Christmas Fortnight. Many thanks to Scotmid for sponsoring the goody bags. Any left over after this event will thereafter be available at the Community Fridge.
From 4pm on Thursday November 28th, the festive light trail will be book-ended by illuminations at Blackness Library in Sinderins and The Gate Church, while colourful floodlights and festive-themed images, including children's and art students' artworks alongside interactive computer games, will be projected onto buildings up both sides of the road.
Many of the Perth Road businesses will be opening late and joining in the fun with impressive window displays and colourful shop lights.

6pm to 6.50pm this Thursday - The West End Christmas Concert at Dundee West Church!
Featuring our two secondary schools at Harris Academy and St John’s RC High School and four of our local primary schools – Tayview PS, St Joseph’s RC PS, Blackness PS, and Victoria Park PS – along with Cherry Blossom Nursery School.
Our friends from St Ninian’s RC PS are our guest performers this year and Mains of Fintry Pipe Band will lead everyone to Winter WestFest after the concert. Many thanks also to Rev Dr Jim Connolly for hosting the concert. All welcome – see you there!
