Weekly Road Report - West End Ward

DUNDEE CITY COUNCIL - WEEKLY ROAD REPORT

REPORT FOR WEST END WARD WEEK COMMENCING MONDAY 16 JANUARY 2017

Blackness Road/Glamis Road – temporary traffic lights from Monday 16 January for 3 weeks for gas main renewal.

Also – from Scottish Water :

“As Scottish Water’s £5 million mains upgrade continues in Dundee work will resume in the Blackness Road area next week.

When the initial work began there in the autumn to reline the pipes it was discovered some of the pipes were not able to be relined due to their condition so a full upgrade was required.

This will be done over the next few weeks with work beginning in Blackness Street and Annfield Street on Monday 16th January for around 3 weeks.

There will be some roadworks during this phase with localised traffic management and some access and parking restrictions but there will be NO road closures during this work.

Local access will be maintained where possible and pedestrian access at all times.

Work will also be required at a later date in Blackness Road with temporary traffic lights at the junction with Glenagnes Road for around one week followed by temporary traffic lights at the junction with Rosefield Street.

Dates for this section are yet to be confirmed however signage will be in place in advance of the work starting there.

During the work our alliance partner Caledonia Water Alliance, who are carrying out the project on our behalf, may need to turn off the water supply for some customers for a time, but anyone affected will receive at least 48 hours’ notice of this, with the timescales involved.”
