The City Council's summer recess ended last night, with the Development Management Committee, the committee that determines planning applications, taking place.
There was one application in the West End on the agenda, for a proposed small business development on the west side of Peddie Street. I asked questions of the deputation that spoke in support of the developer, but - along with all other members of the committee - supported the recommendation to refuse the application.
This development would have had an adverse impact on the residential amenity of adjacent residents - for example by overshadowing and loss of parking.
