Temporary Traffic Order - Seafield Road

I have long argued for footway improvements in Seafield Road and am therefore pleased to have been advised of the following by Dundee City Council :

"Dundee City Council proposes to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 for the purpose of facilitating footway repairs and kerbing works.  The Order is expected to be in force for two weeks from 2 July 2012.  Its maximum duration in terms of the Act is eighteen months.

The effect of the Order is to prohibit temporarily all vehicular traffic in (1) Seafield Road (East/West section) from number 50 to number 58 and (2) Seafield Road (North/South section) from number 66 to number 82.

Only one section will be closed at a time.  Access will be maintained where possible.

An alternative route will be available via Seafield Road, Bellefield Avenue and Roseangle.

Please forward any comments you may have regarding this proposal to the Network Management Team, City Development Department, Dundee House, 50 North Lindsay Street, Dundee  DD1 1LS, no later than five working days prior to the commencement date.  If you have any queries, please contact 433082."

The footway along the east/west stretch referred to above is in particularly poor shape, with the kerbing badly damaged, and so the repairs and kerbing works will be warmly welcomed by local residents.
