Dundee City Council proposes to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 for the purpose of facilitating carriageway surfacing works. The Order is expected to be in force for two weeks from 14 June 2011. Its maximum duration in terms of the Act is eighteen months.
The effect of the Order is to prohibit temporarily all vehicular traffic in Blackness Road from the east side of its junction with Glenagnes Road to the west side of its junction with Forest Park Road.
Pedestrian thoroughfare and vehicular access to premises will be maintained where possible.
An alternative route will be available for eastbound traffic via Blackness Road, Blackness Avenue, Perth Road, Bellfield Street and Blackness Road and for westbound traffic via Blackness Road, Bellfield Street, Perth Road, Blackness Avenue and Blackness Road.
The terms of the Tayside Region (Dundee) (One-Way Traffic) (Consolidation) Order 1987 will require to be suspended where they relate to one-way traffic in Blackness Street for the duration of the above.
