I've been heavily involved in the group that is soon to launch the public appeal to ensure that there is a lasting and fitting memorial to the 59 victims of the 1879 Tay Rail Bridge Disaster.
The launch of the appeal will be made on the 131st anniversary of the disaster - on 28th December 2010 - at the McManus Galleries and we are delighted that Lord Provost John Letford will host the event and a number of other dignatories will attend, including Provost Frances Melville of Fife Council.
