Just back from an evening in Kinross at a Liberal Democrat candidates' hustings meeting for the Mid Scotland and Fife region ahead of next year's Scottish Parliamentary Elections. Err ... no, I am not a would-be candidate - I'm the returning officer! I'm also returning officer for the internal party election for the promising new North Angus & Mearns constituency, where we held the hustings meeting last Sunday evening.
Tonight's meeting at the Loch Leven Community Campus was extremely well attended and it was great to listen to a group of experienced and impressive people wanting to represent the party in the Mid Scotland and Fife region at next year's election.
