For many months, I have highlighted the safety concerns about the dreadful pathway around the former Homebase site on Riverside Drive. Click on the headline above to view an earlier blog entry on this concern.Last night's "Evening Telegraph" covered the assault and robbery of one of my constituents on the pathway. I spoke with her on Sunday; it was a terrible experience for this lady and it reinforces my view (and hers) that the temporary pathway is unsafe and must be replaced with a safer, less claustrophobic, path.
I am meeting with a representative of the City Council's Legal Section tomorrow to discuss what legal steps may be taken over this matter.
