Earlier this year, I mentioned that the 100th Anniversary of Blackness Library takes place this October. Click on the headline above to view the earlier story.
I have now had an update from the Leisure & Communities Department, who inform me that the following activities are planned :
- A visit from the author of 'Robodog' - Frank Rogers
- Bill Dow, a local historian , will give a talk
- During the week a Toy Library will be launched
- A Celebration cake has been ordered from Goodfellow and Steven
- A number of displays by local groups will be on show
- A Celebration quiz for the public has been devised
I am extremely pleased that plans to mark the 100th Anniversary of Blackness Library are now advanced. The Library is an extremely valuable resource for the West End and it is fitting that its centenary is celebrated.
