Tayside Police has advised me that it is to be introducing a single non emergency telephone number to replace a large range of existing non emergency phone numbers across the Force's area.This will mean that people will be able to call the Police on non-emergency matters from anywhere in Tayside on one number. I think that's to be greatly welcome, and as Tayside Police says,
"Currently it can be confusing to know which number to call in either emergency or non emergency situations. The move to a single non emergency number will be linked to the provision of more detailed information about when to use 999 or the new number."
